Education
AFS actively supports education programs. Local schools have benefited with equipment and foundry supplies. Interest in the foundry industry has increased at the high school level. ESCO, Vancouver Iron and Steel, and Columbia Steel Casting Company host tours annually to give student first hand exposure to the foundry production process. A pattern library has been established with the assistance of AFS and Willamette Pattern Works. Schools are able to check out patterns for use in their high school foundries. We look forward to developing further partnerships between education and AFS.
